BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Alabamians have the third-highest divorce rate from 2016-2017, a study from LendingTree finds.
LendingTree, an online lending marketplace, conducted the report by analyzing marriage and divorce data at the state level for the 2016-2017 and 2007-2008 time periods.
According to the report, 2.1% of marriages ended in divorce from 2016 to 2017. This is a decrease in divorce rates from 2007-2008 where the rate was 2.6%.
Arkansas came in with the highest rate at 2.4% and Hawaii came in with the lowest rate at 1.2%.
