2 suspects in custody in Graysville bank robbery

GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that happened at the Regions Bank on 2nd Avenue SW. 

Deputies responded to the bank at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Deputies were told that a man had entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. He did not show a weapon. The teller gave the man the money and he left the scene in a gold Lexus sedan driven by another man. 

No one was injured during the robbery. 

A short time later, the FBI located the suspect at a residence in the 100 block of Mimosa Court in Mulga. He was taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives. Authorities have not released his name pending formal charges.

The alleged driver of the sedan was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon just after 2 p.m. He was found hiding in the attic of a home in the 600 block of 3rd Ave in Mulga. The Sheriff’s office says money taken during the robbery was found with him.
