2 charged with robbery, attempted murder in Tuscaloosa shooting; police searching for 3rd suspect

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa Police arrested two men in connection to a shooting in Hay Court Apartments that sent one man to the hospital with what police believe were non-life-threatening injuries. 

On June 11, Tuscaloosa Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 3900 block of 4th Street. More officers also responded to Hay Court Apartments on another call of a shooting. Police determined that a 30-year-old male suspect was shot in Hay Court and drove to the 3900 block of 4th Street where authorities responded to transport him to DCH Regional Medical Center. 

According to police, the suspect was near building 79 in Hay Court talking to someone who owed him money when the incident took place. The victim told police that another man walked up with a rifle and started firing into the car. Police said the victim appeared to have been struck twice in the shoulder. His vehicle was hit multiple times.

Investigators located several shell casings in Hay Court. They also learned that an occupied apartment unit was shot into during the incident. No one in the apartment was injured. 

On June 29, police arrested 24-year-old Damion Davante Cole and 20-year-old Frederius Keithon Moss in connection with the shooting. Cole was charged with first-degree robbery and Moss was charged with attempted murder. 

Cole is being held on a $20,000 bond and Moss is being held on a $120,000 bond.

Investigators are still searching for another unidentified suspect.
