11 arrested in undercover reverse arrest prostitution sting in Shelby County

COLUMBIANA, Ala. (WIAT)– 11 men are in jail after the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted an undercover reverse prostitution sting.

On Thursday, September 20, the task force conducted the under cover sting, titled Operation Close Out. The operation was carried out in North Shelby County along Highway 280, according to Captain Clay Hammac. 

11 men were arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution. Those charged include, Angelou Louis Petite, 47, of Pelham; David Robert Rodriguez, 24, or Birmingham; Donell Gomillion , 54, of Albertville; Edward Goss, 44, of Pinson; Kendrick Ball, 34, of Anniston; Lee Glenn, 52, of Leeds; Noah Brown, 39, of Vestavia Hills; Olbin Jimenez, 24, of Birmingham; Terry Lynn Scruggs, 30, of Anniston; Thomas Barton Banks, 40, of Birmingham; Tylor Martin Street, 31, of Birmingham. 

The Drug Enforcement Task Force expects this to be the first of additional operations to follow. Capt. Hammoc says the motivation behind these efforts is to demonstrate a zero-tolerance for criminal solicitation and to aggressively attack the demand for these type enterprises, which often rooted in human trafficking and drug trafficking.
