Birmingham, Ala.- The Housing Authority of the Birmingham District is preparing to host its first-ever 5K fundraising event.
It’s called the Helping Hands 5K Dash to Self-Sufficiency Fun Run/Walk. It will be held on Saturday, September 14 at Railroad Park in Birmingham. In addition to the fun/run walk events, there will also be food trucks, family games, face painting and family resources. The registration deadline is September 6th. The race will benefit community-based programs of the housing authority’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency Program and the Naomi H.
