4 victims identified after head-on collision on I-22

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The following was released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency:

There was a two-vehicle crash at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, that claimed the lives of four Little Rock residents (see related): driver Monica Daniele Jackson, 49, Tamblyn J Jackson, 50, Kheri Thomas Ayers, 29, and Daniel Izell Johnson, 42, all of Little Rock, Arkansas.

They were killed when the Nissan Altima they were traveling in was struck by a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.  All were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Interstate 22 at the 61-mile marker, approximately one mile south of Jasper. 

The Dodge, driven by Michael Troy Majors, 25, of Bessemer, Alabama, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 22 and collided head-on with the victims’ vehicle.  Majors was injured in the crash and transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama for treatment.  Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
