BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — In this week’s Living Well with Michelle, Michelle went to Chelsea try a REFIT Revolution class at the Chelsea Community Center.
Shelley Puckett started this branch of REFIT as a ministry at her church six years ago.
“My faith incorporates everything that I do,” said Puckett. “The way I bring that to REFIT is we have a time of community at the end of class where we share whatever’s on our heart.”
The folks at REFIT aim to create an environment of positivity and inclusion. Puckett realizes that many people who want to get fit don’t always have the means to join a gym.
“I chose to have free classes because I do want a place where anybody can come,” said Puckett. “And they have no limitations, as far as financial or physical.”
The Chelsea REFIT is hosting a “REFIT Back to School Bash” July 26 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Chelsea Community Center. They are accepting donations in the form of school supplies.
