CALERA, Ala., (WIAT) — Shandra Williams is dealing with an unimaginable loss. The future she had with her husband, 32-year-old Jeremy Williams, is now gone after a crash on I-65 near mile marker 234 in Shelby County claimed his life on last Friday. “I just feel bad for my baby, she’s 9 and she has to live without her daddy,” said Shandra. She believes Jeremy is looking down and smiling that people are here for the family.
Shandra says Jeremy was the silly one in the group who loved attention, a musician, dedicated father who loved his daughter and a football fan who rooted for the Auburn Tigers. Family members say he lost control of his motorcycle, struck a guardrail and was ejected. He was then struck by a passing motorist and passed away at the hospital.
“As soon as the doctor walked in, I saw his face. I couldn’t take it, I never felt that much pain in my life,” Shandra said.
The visitation begins at 6 p.m. His funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Pilgrim Baptist Church on Goldwire place.
