Peter Curi joined CBS 42 in February 2021 as a digital content producer.
Peter grew up just outside Chicago and attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale before transferring and receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies with a double minor in Writing and Film Studies, from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
He interned during his last college semester and then later became an Multimedia Journalist and Digital Content Producer at WJMN-TV Local 3 News in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Outside of the news industry, he has worked as a freelance Production Assistant for photoshoots, launch events, music videos, and even was an Executive Producer and wrote a screenplay for a short film that is still in the works.
Peter’s hobbies include writing, reading, traveling, exploring, being at live music events, relaxing, and watching movies. He also enjoys playing and watching hockey, basketball, baseball, and he rollerblades.
He moved to Birmingham with his beautiful girlfriend, Rhetta, and their dog, Yoshi. He says that he and Rhetta are beyond excited to be back in a “city” and away from the snow that took over 9 months of the year back in the U.P. They currently live in Homewood.
Peter is a big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, White Sox, and the Las Vegas Raiders, but he still needs to decide if he is a Alabama or Auburn fan. Time will tell.
