Michael is a Central Alabama native, born and raised in the Anniston area and is proud to call himself an Alexandria Valley Cub. Michael is a graduate from Alexandria High school and went on to The University of Alabama, earning a degree in business. Michael made a decision to pursue his lifelong passion for weather. His journey began at Mississippi State University where he pursued a degree in Broadcast Meteorology. His professional career began in Greenville, Mississippi and then moved to Jackson, Mississippi, working there from 2012-2020.
Michael developed a fascination for meteorology at a young age, having experienced The Blizzard of ’93, witnessed the devastation of The Palm Sunday Tornado Outbreak in 1994, followed by Hurricane Opal in 1995; along with many other winter storms and severe weather outbreaks. He is also a passionate hurricane chaser.
Michael is thrilled to be home in Alabama, serving his family and friends. While he appreciated his time in Mississippi, he claims the band ‘Alabama’, said it best: “My home’s in Alabama, no matter where I lay my head.”
Michael is a life long Atlanta Braves and college football fan, enjoys grilling, and watching what he says is the greatest show ever made, ‘The Any Griffith Show’.
