Jordan Highsmith is a digital reporter and producer at CBS 42. She began working at the station in 2017 after graduating from Samford University in Birmingham. She was also a scholarship track and field athlete at Samford when the women’s team won the SOCON Indoor Conference in 2016.
She was born and raised in Missouri City, Texas, a suburb outside of Houston. Jordan attended Hightower High School and joined the school’s Broadcast Journalism Academy in 9th grade. It wasn’t long after that she found her passion in news. While attending Samford University, Jordan also interned at KTRK ABC 13 in Houston, Texas.
When she’s not working, Jordan volunteers at Cornerstone High School as a mentor for high school girls. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and dog, Kobe. She loves trying new restaurants, hiking and taking pictures with friends, traveling and working out.
Jordan has lived in Birmingham since 2014 and the Magic City has been a pleasant surprise ever since.
