Jessalyn made her way back home to the Magic City in November 2018. She has been a CBS 42 digital reporter since April 2019. The Birmingham born-and-raised multimedia journalist is enthusiastic about reporting the latest headlines and following the stories that impact her community. Jessalyn graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in April 2014. She was a member of the UAB Golden Girls, and her time on the team furthered her passion for the city. Shortly after graduation, Jessalyn moved with her husband, Michael, to Fort Rucker, Alabama where they started their family and she began her career. Jessalyn is a mom to two boys, Samuel and James David, and a rescue pup, Pepper. She got her start working at WDHN News in Dothan, Alabama. After taking a “mommy hiatus”, Jessalyn started working at WRBL News 3 in Columbus, Georgia. She spent almost a year reporting in the Chattahoochie Valley before joining CBS 42 team. Now that she is back home, you can usually find Jessalyn with her boys at UAB athletic events, camping–or anywhere with boats and swimming–spending time with her family and friends, or enjoying time at home. She is a social butterfly, so if you see her around town, feel free to walk up and say hello! Jessalyn also loves a good story, so if you have one to tell, go ahead and reach out.
