I’m back in Central Alabama, where I grew up. My hometown is Childersburg, just down 280, and I’m excited to be back in the Birmingham market!
I attended Mississippi State University where I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Meteorology in 2016. If you hear any cowbells ringing around here, that’d probably be me! While I was in school, I was fortunate to intern here at CBS 42, and learned so much from our very own Ashley Gann! While I was still in school, I worked for Townsquare media providing severe weather coverage over the radio in West Alabama, and started my TV career as a weekend meteorologist at WVUA in Tuscaloosa.
After I graduated in 2016, I joined WCBI in Columbus, Mississippi where I quickly became the weekday morning meteorologist. I joined Nexstar Nation in 2019 when I joined WHNT in Huntsville. I’ve covered all kinds of weather so far in my career, from winter storms to hurricanes to tornadoes. That includes an EF-3 tornado that missed WCBI by a matter of blocks in 2019.
When I’m not working on our crazy Alabama weather, I love spending time with my dog, Fujita (named after Dr. Ted Fujita of the Fujita scale).”
