Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward will remain in a hospital overnight after suffering a leg laceration in the team's loss to Columbus on Saturday.

Ward was cut by Rick Nash's skate and received stitches for the injury. As he skated off, drops of blood could be seen hitting the ice. He is currently in stable condition and is expected to leave the hospital on Sunday.

The team has not released a timetable for his return. Carolina's next game is Wednesday against Los Angeles.
