Birmingham, Ala. (Oct 9) - Barber MotorsportsPark and ZOOM Motorsports announced that tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Monday, October 10th, at 11am CT for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama presented by Legacy scheduled for March 30 – April 1, 2012, at Barber Motorsports Park. Tickets will be available for purchase at www.barbermotorsports.com. Fans can order their tickets and immediately print from the convenience of their home.  

For a limited time, Barber Motorsports Park will reward its fans who purchase early by offering an exclusive discount for General Admission Tickets and Paddock Passes. To receive the discount, fans can “like” the Barber Motorsports Park fan page on Facebook or sign up for the Barber Motorsports Park email updates at www.barbermotorsports.com for a promo code offering 20% off to fans who purchase up until Wednesday, October 12th.  Starting Thursday, October 13th, Facebook fans and members of the Barber Motorsports Park email database can enjoy a 10% discount before tickets will be full price beginning Wednesday, October 26th.  

New this year, all spectators will enjoy FREE on-site parking Friday and Saturday. Premium On-site parking and Preferred Off-siteparking for Sunday will be available for purchase.  Complimentary spectator parking for Sunday will be in an off-site location with a shuttle transporting fans directly to the gate.

Tickets start as low as $15.  Among the many ticket options available for the 2012 event is a 3-day General Admission ticket for only $69, as well as a 3-day paddock pass for just $50.  A new option for the third annual event is a Junior Paddock upgrade ticket.

Spectators can select from a variety of tickets ranging in price from $15 to $425 and as in years past, kids 12 and under receive free general admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult. In addition to tickets, fans can also purchase tent and motorhome camping.  Limited quantities of these options, as well as tickets, are available.

In only its second year, the Honda Indy GrandPrix of Alabama was named the “2011 Event of the Year” by the Alabama Tourism Department, along with being voted “Best Sporting Event” and “Best Annual Event” by the readers of BirminghamMagazine. This unique event brought more than 79,000 fans from 41 states and 5 countries to watch the drivers of the IZOD IndyCar Series compete on the 17 turn, 2.38 mile road course at Barber Motorsports Park.

The 2012 event will again feature some the most dominant names in open-wheel racing, including defending champion Will Power, 2010 champion Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti, Marco Andretti and more. Also debuting in 2012 will be the next generation IndyCar race car, featuring a new chassis, redesigned shell and for the first time since 2005, multiple engine options.  During the weekend fans can also expect to see the Grand-Am Road Racing Series featuring the Rolex Series’ Porsche 250 and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Fans will be able to enjoy “Fan Walks” on pit lane, an interactive Fan Zone with a ferris wheel, autograph sessions and much more.
