TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama men’s basketball team knocked off Big East opponent Providence, 84-75, in an up-tempo, back-and-forth game at Coleman Coliseum Friday night. Senior Mikhail Torrance made the biggest play of the game when he came up with a steal, drove the length of the floor and converted the basket plus the foul with 0:44 seconds left to give Alabama a 79-75 lead.

Torrance led the Crimson Tide with 26 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Both of Alabama’s starting frontcourt players, junior Justin Knox and sophomore JaMychal Green, posted double-doubles. Knox scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Green added 15 points and 12 boards. The Crimson Tide’s next contest comes on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, against Baylor in the Ole Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CST and the game will air on ESPN2.
