PLAYERS LEAVING: Reports from AuburnSports.com indicate that wide receiver
Chris Slaughter has decided to leave school. Slaughter caught 18 passes in his two seasons on the Plains.
Tray Blackmon will not return to Auburn in 2009. He is no longer enrolled at the school. Blackmon was highly touted coming to Auburn and played well at times, but never truly lived up to his high billing. He missed 17 games due to injuries during his Auburn career. Reports have him signing a contract with the Canadian Football League.
Defensive back
Ryan Williams has enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. Williams missed the entire 2008 season and played sparingly in 2007.
WELCOME TO THE PLAINS: Since the arrival of running backs coach
Curtis Luper, Auburn has jumped in the
Rueben Randle sweepstakes with both feet. Randle, a 6-3, 195 pound wide receiver from Bastrop, Louisiana was thought to be down to LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma State. But Luper has convinced him to visit Auburn instead of Oklahoma State. Randle will visit Auburn on January 9th and Tuscaloosa on the 16th.
