NEW YORK, NY (WIAT) - Samford defensive lineman Nick Williams became the 5th player in Samford history picked in the NFL Draft. He was selected 223rd overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's the second year in a row the Bulldogs have had a player drafted. Corey White was selected in the 5th round by the New Orleans Saints in the 2012 Draft.
For his senior season in 2012, Williams had 31 tackles, including 15 solo stops. Williams had seven sacks and eight tackles for a loss last season. His seven sacks ranked second in the Southern Conference.
