TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- ESPN announced the nominees for the 2013 ESPY Awards, and among the nominees are the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Nick Saban's Crimson Tide is nominated for "Best Team," after winning their second straight national championship in January.
The Tide was also nominated for "Best Team" last year, but lost to the NBA Champion Miami Heat.
This year, the Tide is up against the Miami Heat, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Blackhawks, Oklahoma Sooners softball team, and the Olympic U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team.
Texas A&M's memorable win over Alabama is nominated for "Best Upset." The Aggie's Heisman-winning quarterback, Johnny Manziel, is also nominated for Best Male College Athlete and Best Breakthrough Athlete.
The ESPYs is an annual awards show focusing on achievement in sports presented by ESPN.
The winners are determined by fan voting. The awards ceremony will be held on July 17, 2013 in Los Angeles.
