University of Alabama football fans are finding the news that their biggest rivals lost a coach mid-season to be an interesting move. "I wasn't surprised, I think it's a move on Tuberville's part to keep from getting fired himself," says one Crimson Tide fan One of the callers on the Dunaway and Brown show, “Big Mike,” agrees: "is it not to me the dumbest decision ever made by a head coach to fire the only guy who knows how to run the spread offense and then still run the spread offense?" Maybe so, but even some Auburn fans were happy to lose Tony Franklin: "I think it's about time!" Between the coaching shake up at Auburn and the way Alabama has been playing this year, some fans believe when the two teams meet at Bryant Denny Stadium for the Iron Bowl, the Tide will finally have the chance to end their six year losing streak. "Saban's going to have them ready to play no matter what kind of offense Auburn installs by then,” says a Bama fan. "I think it's written in stone now, I don't see how they could ever recover from this," adds another Crimson Tide fan. "With Bama coming in the way they are this year, it's going to be a pretty good run and I think that they won't stand a chance this year," says another Tide Fan. But we'll just have to wait and see when both teams take the field.
