Kentucky has simple plan for Alabama

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks said his team's

game plan Saturday against No. 2 Alabama is simple: be prepared.

Brooks said Thursday the Wildcats (4-0) need to expect a

physical and fast-paced game against the Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0

Southeastern Conference). Alabama often gains momentum in the first

quarter because of their physicality and Brooks said the Wildcats

need to control the line of scrimmage in order to compete.

Brooks said he doesn't see his team running the ball well

against Alabama, but hopes they can get a running game that is

consistent enough to keep the pressure off of quarterback Mike

Hartline. He added that he doesn't see the Kentucky defense

creating many takeaway opportunities or defensive scores against

the Crimson Tide.

The Wildcats will play a game similar to the one they played

against Louisville, Brooks said, where the defense came up big and

the offense looked to make passing plays and set the kicking game

up in good field position.
