BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Samford football team practiced for about an hour and a half in shorts and helmets Tuesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are continuing to prepare for Thursday evening’s season-opening game against West Georgia.
“We went through opening scripts and a few different things,” Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said. “School has started and we have that routine going. Basically, we are healthy, and now we just have to rest up and get our legs under us for Thursday night. It’s just time to finally play somebody.”
Sullivan said the Bulldogs would have a shortened practice Wednesday afternoon to finish the team’s preparation for Thursday evening.
“We’ll work out for about an hour,” Sullivan said. “Just jog through everything.”
Wednesday’s practice, in shorts and helmets, will be held at 3:45 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
Thursday night’s season-opener against West Georgia is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium. The game can be heard live on the Samford Football Radio Network. The flagship station for the network is WVSU-FM 91.1. The game can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.samford.edu/groups/wvsu/.
