ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (AP) - Pat Dye was reunited recently with pants he somehow lost at Lake Martin more than two decades ago. The former Auburn coach and College Football Hall of Famer had pants from the mid-1980s returned by Lake Martin-area resident Shannon McDuffie. She found them last December covered in mud, but had a hard time tracking Dye down. Dye says he had no idea how he lost the pants but that he used to have a home in that part of Lake Martin in the 1980s. McDuffie returned the pants and a wallet containing credit cards and Dye's driver's license to his home in Notasulga. His car keys were still in the pockets of the green-and-blue Madras golf pants. Dye says he will donate the pants, wallet and all their contents to a charity auction. The odd tale was reported in the Lake Martin edition of "Lake Magazine."
