SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Andrei Kirilenko led a late charge and the
Utah Jazz knotted their Western Conference semifinal series at two
games apiece by outlasting the Los Angeles Lakers 123-115 in
overtime.
Kirilenko blocked Kobe Bryant twice in the extra period and
converted a three-point play that put the Jazz ahead by five points
with 35 seconds left. He finished with 15 points for the Jazz, who
shot 9-for-9 from the free-throw line while outscoring the Lakers
15-7 in the final period.
Deron Williams poured in 29 points and had 14 assists as one of
three Utah players with a double-double. Carlos Boozer scored 12 of
his 14 points in the second half and finished with 12 rebounds.
Mehmet Okur (MEH'-met oh-KOOR') contributed 18 points and 11
rebounds to the victory.
Bryant finished with 33 points for the Lakers, who erased a
12-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation. Lamar
Odom chipped in 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Pau Gasol (paw
gah-SAHL') added 23 points and 10 boards.
Game 5 is Wednesday in Los Angeles.
