CENTER POINT, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Jefferson County School bus was in an accident Monday afternoon when a car pulled out in front of the bus, Transportation Director Neal Underwood said.
According to Underwood, the bus ran into the car after the car pulled out in front of it.
Students were on the bus at the time of the accident, and both the students and the bus driver were checked out by first responders. Another bus was sent to the scene to transport the children home.
Underwood said some children were released to their parents that came out to the scene.
Sgt. Jack Self with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said there were 37 children on the bus. There were no injuries reported for passengers on the bus or the car involved in the wreck, Self said.
The students on the bus were from Rudd Middle School.
The bus was towed away from the scene.
