KEMPER COUNTY, Miss. (WIAT) -- UPDATE: According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety, the child has been located and is safe.
ORIGINAL: An Amber Alert has been issued out of Mississippi, and the suspect involved may be in Alabama.
6-year-old Jashayla Hopson was taken from school in Kemper County, Mississippi, on Tuesday afternoon.
She is African-American with black hair and brown eyes.
She is 4'2" tall, and weighs 50 pounds. She was last seen wearing turquoise pants, a pink shirt with ice cream designs and white sandals.
She may be in a gray, 4-door sedan driven by a woman.
Investigators believe the womean could be in Alabama.
