Police in Anniston are investigating the shooting of a young man right in front of a home!
All is calm on Thursday at this Anniston residence, but that was not the scene Wednesday night.
Lt. Rocky Stemen says, "Once we got there, we found a victim that had been shot once in the lower back."
The victim was 21-year old John Bibb of Courtland, Alabama, which is right outside of Decatur.
He says, "He was given CPR, he died at Regional Medical Center at 9:15 p.m."
The residence where the crime occurred is actually a rehabilitation center, a place where people go to save their lives, however, Wednesday night Bibb lost his.
Damario Slocam, a neighbor, says, "Right there on the end of the block right there, that's supposed to be a place where you get yourself together, but you know i guess something went bad, turned bad or something."
Neighbors are shocked by the crime.
Vernon Tatum says, "Nothing has happened like that, because the police are here a lot. I don't know how that happened, I don't know how that happened."
Roosevelt Briom lives two doors down from the crime scene, he says the shooting could have happened to anyone.
"It could have been me, i don't know if the guy knew the other one. It could have been me, it could have been anyone."
Anniston Police say they have no leads in the case.
If you have any information contact the Anniston Police.
Bibb was the son of District Judge David Bibb of Decatur.
