Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford continues to press his case in bringing electronic bingo back to the city.
Langford says the games would be taxed to help fund city projects. Last month, he asked the city council to approve a vote of the people on the matter.
Langford claims that the laws on electronic bingo should be uniform statewide.
"It's already in six other places and it's legal in 19 counties. All I'm simply saying is that a law can not be applicable in Greene County and against the law in Birmingham," said Langford.
If approved by Birmingham voters, Mayor Langford wants to send the measure to the state legislature before November.
Similar bills have failed in the past.
