Two Men Suspected in Quadruple Birmingham Homicide Appear in Court

Two men charged with killing a Birmingham family of four appeared in court Thursday morning. Shaunnasty Lowe (pictured on the far left) and Steven Williams (pictured on the near left) face capital murder charges.
Investigators described the murders in detail. One detective says the two children, who'd been shot in the head, had not died by the time the fire was set. The defense says that doesn't prove his clients committed the crimes.
Defense attorney Charles Salvaggio said, "I mean the objective evidence that came out here is this: He was there, he picked up two guys, no shots were heard, no house was on fire, nothing. Case shouldn't go forward."
Investigators believe drugs were the motive behind the killings.
