A 20-year-old Gadsden man faces federal charges for his alleged involvement in a bank robbery and carjacking in Anniston.
Federal prosecutors in Birmingham said Gabriel Dewayne Rice was named in a four-count indictment returned Tuesday.
In a July 16 holdup at a Wachovia Bank in Anniston, two elderly women were carjacked and kidnapped. The victims were released unharmed in Gadsden.
Rice was among five males from the greater Gadsden area who were charged in a string of bank robberies across east Alabama.
The arrests were announced in mid-August.
