It used to be that you could drive down eastern valley rd in McCalla and you'd sooner see a horse or an emu than a steam roller, but times have changed and the some of the country scenery has been replaced by subdivisions.

It was, but last week when Jason Brown returned home he arrived home to find things not quiet the way he left them.
"My door to my garage was open and my back door was kicked in."
Dorothy Taylor says. "We've had several break-ins starting since August.”
Neighbors in the candle brook community have been on edge ever since, but they are not alone.
In addition to candle brook, the summer set, Birchwood and Bradford Park communities have been burglarized and the Jefferson County Sheriff's department has stepped up patrols in this entire area.
"A few people have described a light blue Honda; Possibly a Honda Civic as being in the area that they don't recognize. That's about the only lead we have right now.”
That form Jefferson County spokes person Randy Christian. But that could change because the Candle Brook neighbors have been working with the sheriff’s department to strengthen their neighborhood watch…
