Let the bidding wars begin! Up for sale on eBay, how about a Christian pastor and his family? "We’ve gotten quite a few emails just asking you know, 'are you as crazy as we think you are?' I say yeah, we are," says Pastor Chad Smith, who along with his women’s ministry-leading wife Marti, is searching for a new non-denominational church to head. But they are finding the job hunt is pretty competitive.
"We got a call back from one of the church's we applied, they said they had 300...over 300 applications and resumes so we felt like, how do we stand out from the rest," says Pastor Chad.
This motorcycle riding, tattooed Pastor says he promises the winning church will never have a dull moment on a Sunday morning. "I bring a lot of humor, I'm a visionary preacher, so I can change the way I bring the message, I don't change the message," says Pastor Chad.
Bidding for this self-proclaimed out of the box pastor starts at a dollar, but Pastor Chad has an undisclosed reserve price. If that's met by the winning bidder, it would be his yearly salary. "We're not in it for the money; we're in it to help people and to reach communities, that's what we strive for."
So if you're interested in a pastor, his wife and two kids, you could be just a mouse click away! Pastor Smith's listing has only been on eBay since Monday night. Any interested parties have a little more than nine days to bid on this unorthodox pastor.
