"It is awesome.  God's blessed us with some great weather; people showed up for the event.  We just wanted people to know that freedom's not just about independence in our country, that we also have freedom of Jesus Christ," says Union Hill Pastor Mickey Bell.

Bell not only worked to put the event together, he also jumped on stage with Scottsboro, Alabama's "New Ground."

Bell says the event wasn't just for the Union Hill congregation:  "A lot of other churches, a lot of other businesses and people have come to help us with this event, so we're very thankful for them, because without them we couldn't do it."

Hundreds filled the lawns at Oak Grove Memorial Park - former sight of Oak Grove High School.  A devastating tornado destroyed the school in 1998.  Now, many are excited in moving forward plans to develop the memorial park.

Wayne Campbell is Vice President of the Oak Grove Memorial Park Commission and says plans are in the works: "We've got permission for a walking track.  We've got it going in in August.  We're just, we're ready.  We're ready.  We need money is what we need...  They were afraid a subdivision or something like that was going to be here.  And I was a president of Rock Creek football, and I really wanted to see football played on the field again."

If you have an interest in helping out, the Oak Grove Memorial Park Commission is selling memorial bricks starting at $100.  Visit http://www.oakgrovememorialpark.com/ for more information.
