The Alabama Black Belt is known for many things. Historically for it’s fertile dark soil. But most recently it's been known for allegations of voter fraud. The Democracy Defense League of Hale County sponsored a three county meeting Thursday night in Perry County to discuss the issue facing not only Perry and Hale, but Greene County as well. The chapel of Marion Military Institute was packed. 350 plus people came to hear about the recent allegations and what can be done about it. Some like Cynthia Davis shared their own personal stories. The 21 year old says she had her first ballot stolen right out of her hand 3 years ago. The main speaker at the voter fraud meeting was Alabama Secretary of State Beth Chapman. One of her main concerns is absentee ballots. Secretary Chapman says her office has received tips that could lead to arrests for voter fraud somewhere in the state of Alabama.
