13 Arrested, 44 Pounds of Cocaine Seized in Drug Sting

A sting resulted in the arrest of 13 people and the seizure of about 44 pounds of cocaine in what authorities described as a ring that was shipping drugs into north Alabama.
Federal, state and local officers also seized 85 pounds of marijuana, about 18 vehicles and $200,000 in the weekend operation.
Authorities announced the bust during a news conference Tuesday. The arrests were made in Morgan and Lawrence counties and included suspects from as far away as Oregon and California.
