Detectives Investigate 29th Homicide

Birmingham detectives are investigating the city's latest murder, which occurred Thursday night.
It happened in the 1600 block of 7th Avenue North. The victim, whose identity is unknown at this time, was found on a sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

This is Birmingham's 29th homicide of 2008. There had been 21 homicides in Birmingham this time last year.
