Etowah County investigators spent all day searching for a missing teenager near Attalla. Family members say he's been gone almost two weeks and there has been no contact.
Sheriff's deputies and volunteers hit the woods in a three mile circumference around Jeffery Blake Stone's home again Thursday morning. "Nothing has turned up. So now what we're doing is putting on a massive search today," says Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
The 15 year old's father says the last time anybody saw him was just after noon last Monday. He says he just wants his son to come home. "If he can hear my voice, see the flyers all we ask is contact us, a police officer the family," Jeff Stone says. The worried father wants his son to know that any possible issues he has can be worked out. "This is a spot that i don't want anybody else to be in and to feel like this," he says.
The searchers ended the day around 4pm. After the search Sheriff Entrekin says he's relatively certain the young man is no longer in the area. "You know, I would think that he's bugged out of the area. But we don't know, that's why we did this. To eliminate this area, to get it completely out of the picture," says the sheriff.
Searchers won't be back in the woods on Friday. Sheriff Entrekin says they'll regroup and take a look at fresh leads before deciding what to do next.
