CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WIAT) - Alabama's coast is being labeled as "endangered." It's one of the Southern Environmental Law Center's (SELC) "Top 10 Endangered Places in the Southeast."
On Thursday, the SELC released its fourth annual list of the top 10 places in the south facing immediate, potentially irreparable threats in 2012.
The top 10 areas listed on the SELC's list are as follows:
Alabama's Coast
Dawson Forest, Georgia
Catawba-Wateree River Basin, North Carolina & South Carolina
North Carolina Piedmont
Savannah River, South Carolina & Georgia
Chilhowee Mountain, Tennessee
Chesapeake Bay, Virginia
Mountains of Tennessee & Virginia
Charlottesville, Virginia & Surrounding Countryside
Southside Virginia
