TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Kilgore House at the University of Alabama is set to be demolished on Tuesday.
It is one of the oldest buildings on the campus.
The house was up for sale, but the University couldn't find anyone willing to buy the building.
As a result, the University decided to tear it down.
It will be replaced with a new student plaza with an indoor dining area.
The house was built in 1890 for Bryce Hospital's first engineer, Charles Kilgore.
It was listed on the Alabama Register of Historic Places.
