JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) – Jasper City School teachers officially returned to the classroom Thursday.
Teachers returned with great expectations and a full workload already waiting for them.
Veteran teacher Mike Cordle says the first day is always exciting.
He says new teachers underwent orientation, as well as a school-wide faculty meeting.
Teachers will spend the next week getting classrooms ready for the school year.
"The anticipation of new children coming into the building and new kids getting here next week, it's just a fantastic day," Cordle said.
