ADAMSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) -- UPDATE (3x): According to a police lieutenant on the scene, the suspect involved in the standoff is Jeremy Nevitt.
Nevitt is not inside the residence and is the same suspect wanted in connection with a robbery at a Piggly Wiggly.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
UPDATE (2x): SWAT team members entered the home where it is believed the man is located on Friday afternoon.
The team cleared every room, and confidence was low that the man was still inside the home.
Officials deemed the standoff over after the SWAT team did not find anyone inside the house.
The incident stems from a robbery that took place Wednesday in Mountain Brook.
UPDATE: Jefferson County deputies are working a standoff in Adamsville .
Sherrifs deputies say the man inside the home off Tall Tree Lane initiated a robbery in Mountain Brook earlier today.
After the alleged robbery, investigators say the man fled to the home in Adamsville.
SWAT and Adamsville police are also on the scene.
Investigators have called in the bomb squad as a precaution.
CBS 42 has a crew on the scene and will continue to update as information becomes available.
ORIGINAL: What began as a pursuit of a robbery suspect by Mountain Brook Police, led to the lockdown of Bottenfield Middle School.
The pursuit of the suspect ended in the Forestdale area when he exited his vehicle to flee on foot.
He went into a residence at the 4000 block of Tall Tree Lane, which police believe to be his home, or that of a family member.
The suspect is armed with a handgun. SWAT has been called out.
Bottenfield Middle School had been notified to lock down for security reasons, but at this time the lockdown has been lifted.
