BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- LifeSouth is giving away movie tickets at its blood drives in the Birmingham area over the weekend.
Everyone who donates blood will get one ticket.
Organizers hope the promotion raises awareness about the importance of giving blood.
"It is important every day, because during the summer, a lot of kids are out of school, people go on vacation," Brian Garrett said. "The need for blood never takes a vacation."
On Saturday, LifeSouth will have blood drives in Leeds, Hoover and McCalla.
The following day, on Sunday, they will hold drives in Hueytown, Gardendale and Pelham.
