BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- According to new data, home prices fell in Alabama in the past year.
The new numbers was made available by CoreLogic, a real estate data provider .
Alabama and Delaware are the only two states where home prices fell instead of rose in the last 15 months.
Alabama's home prices dropped by .1 percent.
Other states around the nation are seeing home prices jump by an average of 12.2 percent in May.
Home prices rose 26 percent in Nevada, the highest increase of any state.
California was second with a 20.2 percent increase.
Arizona was third with a 16.9 increase in home prices.
CoreLogic insists that steady hiring and low mortgage rates are behind the increases, as greater demand and fewer available homes have worked to drive home prices up.
