MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga - An autopsy to determine the cause of death for 17-year-old Steven Bradley Foster of Alabaster, found no direct cause of death, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
The Atlanta crime lab will now conduct toxicology tests to check for drugs in the teen's body. According to the coroner it could be October before those results are available.
Bryan says the crime lab is four to six months behind and currently about 48 cases are pending.
Foster's body was discovered in the backseat of an SUV outside a CVS in Columbus, Ga on June 14th.
An officer patrolling the area noticed the vehicle. Upon inspection he discovered Foster inside.
At the time it was unclear exactly how long Foster had been inside the vehicle.
The Muscogee County Coroner tells CBS42 that a surveillance video shows the teen going inside the CVS, where his body was discovered, on Monday June 10th around 4:30 p.m. to purchase a Gatorade.
Joe Foster, Steven's father, told the Columbus Legend Enquirer that the teen ran away the week before his body was discovered.
