BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Good news for Birmingham Southern College.
According to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the school is now in the clear.
The board voted on Thursday to remove its "warning" status.
Birmingham Southern President Gen. Charles Krulak released a statement on the matter on Thursday morning.
"No one could be happier than I am to get word of SACS-COC's decision, which proves what we already knew—that BSC is on sound financial footing,"Krulak said. "We are more than ready to move on and continue building toward the future, because we're in it for the long haul."
Over the past year, Birmingham Southern raised close to $16 million, helping the school reach financial stability.
The money will be used to restore the school's endowment and buy back debt.
