BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
The incident occurred on Friday at 4:50 p.m. at 7901 Crestwood Boulevard.
According to a Birmingham Police Department release, officers in the East Precinct "responded to the incident location to investigate a report of a person down."
The officers found the victim lying on the ground in the breezeway of the hotel, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue officials responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
No arrests have been made in the case.
