JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) -- A Jasper teenager took his lifelong love of NASCAR and created a new persona in 2011.
His new persona got the motorsport world in the Southeast buzzing.
Austin Crafton is known as "Mr. Talladega."
On Thursday, Crafton was fitted for his handmade checkered suit that he designed for Talladega.
Since becoming Mr. Talledega, Crafton has become the unofficial mascot of the races at the track, greeting fans, rubbing elbows with the pit crews and sitting in on driver meetings.
Crafton has even had the chance to access Victory Lane.
He signs hundreds of autographs a day.
Crafton says he would like to work in broadcasting for NASCAR in the future.
