Dozens of supporters awaited outside the Hugo Black Federal Courthouse as William david webb arrived for sentencing.
Webb was not alone as he was joined by his wife and his father the churches Senior Pastor William Scott Webb.
Once inside, Judge Scott Coogler honored the plea agreement reached in May. William David Webb will serve 60 months in federal prison for his crime and pay a small penalty to his victim.
But the sentence is deferred by 30 days to give Webb time to get his affairs in order.
While support for Webb was overwhelming, there were just a few people like Cindy Miller who stood with the victims family. "They finally get closure, because this has been years coming."
But the victims uncle Johnny Brunson says closure may never be enough as it will take the victim and her family time before they learn to trust again.
"When you trust your child, your most precious possession, to a minister and he violates that trust for the period of time and with a plan and scheme the way this was done, it's hard to trust after that."
The Webb family declined to comment on the sentence, but attorney Tommy Spina says David Webb is satisfied with the time he will serve.
