It was around eleven o'clock Monday morning when divers located the 13 year old boys body. Bibb County Sheriff Keith Hannah says he was found about thirty to forty feet away from where he entered the Cahaba River, and ten feet underwater.
The sheriff says dive teams from both Bibb and Tuscaloosa County Sheriffs office’s have been searching since the victim went missing Saturday evening, but today's conditions helped bring the search to a close.
“Water level has dropped, it's a brighter, sunnier day, they're able to see deeper in the water, some of the silt on the bottom has settled, plus just putting more divers in the water made a significant change," says Sheriff Hannah.
Sheriff Hannah says he isn't sure of the exact number of searchers, but he says numerous agencies and volunteers all pulled together to find the boy.
The victim has been identified as Camenron Knowles of Etowah County.
He was reportedly visiting the Cahaba Wildlife Refuge with a class from his school in Green Pond.
