Birmingham, Al  (WIAT)  21 year old Stephany Flores spent most of her last night at Lima, Peru's Atlantic City casino.  She gambled, won a little bit of money, and then encountered Joran van der Sloot.  The CNN blog In Session details Flores last hours in the casino.

Hours later she was dead in van der Sloot's hotel room.  The Dutch national is now sitting in Peru's Castro Castro prison accused of murdering Flores.  He's also actively fighting to get his confession of the murder thrown out claiming a long chain of impropriety by Peruvian law enforcement including coercion and questions about who appointed and paid for the lawyer provided him.

New York lawyer Joe Tacopina has since joined van der Sloot's legal team.  Tacopina represented van der Sloot and his late father, Paulus, in a civil suit filed against them by the family of Natalee Holloway in 2006.

Van der Sloot was, and is, the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway on a graduation trip to Aruba.  The Holloway family filed the civil suit after Aruban authorities failed to charge Joran van der Sloot in the crime.

Among the grisly connections between the Holloway case and the Flores case...Natalee was last seen at an Aruban casino/club....with Joran van der Sloot...five years to the day after Natalee's disappearance.

Van der Sloot reportedly told investigators he killed Flores after she found material relating to Natalee on his laptop computer.

boycoyt aka MaryS, MarySmith, RachelM, dockie123 you know as well as I do that you are writing this nonsense for the shock value. To get attention. But that is pretty evil of you don't you think? Using the rape, robbery, and murder of two young women and the unimaginable grief of their families for your "attention gathering" don't you think?

The right thing to happen hear would be for that confession to be thrown out. I believe Joran is telling the truth about the way the confession come about. After all what does it matter if the confession is thrown out ,he is guilty right ,he did murder the Flores woman, right? So what is the problem her? We all know there was no interpreter sent from the Embassy in Peru and we know Joran did hire the attorney. I said this sounds like a cover up,framed ,framed! That Flores woman is still walking around somewhere laughing about all this. But what goes around comes around, three folds.
